Intense Pulsed Light Treatment for your dry eyes

IPL is a proven technology available for treating meibomian gland dysfunction, the cause of chronic symptoms in about 85% of dry eye patients. It was originally developed for the treatment of rosacea, acne and other skin conditions.

  • While each person is different, most patients will require three to four treatments to achieve results, followed by a single maintenance treatment every six to twelve months. The initial treatments are scheduled 2-3 weeks apart. Results may vary from person to person, so your optometrist will discuss with you how many treatment sessions you may need.

  • IPL is also effective in the treatment of rosacea. Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that reddens the face and nose and is closely related to meibomian gland dysfunction. We offer treatment to patients with rosacea, expanding the treatment area to the full face. This gentle treatment is a great way for patients to achieve an even, natural skin tone, while simultaneously, improving the quality of their tears.

  • IPL treatment addresses the root cause of dry eye instead of temporarily alleviating symptoms. The treatment is quick and well tolerated and can be conveniently performed on a lunch break from work. Most patients see a rapid improvement in their symptoms. If you have tried other dry eye treatments or medications but have not achieved symptom relief, IPL treatment could be the answer.
